If you’re planning a lesson about democracy, you should use this activity idea and the free template you’ll find here.
What you need:
- Computers (with Microsoft Word) and internet access
- This template
Start by asking students questions: What is democracy? Who invented it? How is our democracy different from the Athenian democracy?
After a short discussion, let students teach themselves more on the subject. This can be an individual or group activity. Have them do some research and make a brochure – this can be made in class or as homework. It will be a fun learning exercise.
How to make the brochure
1. Start from this template and customize it: add their own text and images (optional), and save the document as PDF. Of course, they can use other programs like InDesign, PhotoShop, to make the PDFs, if they are older and know how to use them.
2. Ask students to log in to flipsnackedu.com and upload their presentations.
Choose some of the best flipbooks and ask the young authors to present them in front of the class.
